Ute winter squash maturity is 100 days.

This ancient variety was prized by the Ute Indian people who lived in Colorado from AD 1300 to 1881A.D and grew it as a food source.

This is a Non-GMO, Heirloom, winter squash that's light green in color and is a member of the Turks turban squash family. It has almost a sweet melon flavor when eaten raw and a light yellow flesh.  It's a head turner for sure at fall displays and farmers markets! This is a rare, hard-to-find Heirloom that you can't get off the shelf!

All squash need warmth to germinate, around 25C. Sow April to May in small to medium sized pots with good quality compost and keep warm until germination. Grow on under cover until 3 true leaves have formed and plant out about 4-5 ft apart. These are very heavy feeders and need fertile, well manured soil to do best. Dig in a large bucket of well rotted manure/compost under each plant and water well in dry periods. Stressed plants (too close together or soil not fertile enough) will produce only male flowers or none at all.

Happy growing!!!
