Mirabilis Jalapa commonly known as 4 o'clock flowers are perennial flowers native to South America.
The flowers have a lemon scent and open in the late afternoon, typically around 4 p.m. or so, and then remain open until the next morning.
This variety blooms in a striking scarlet colour which is an eye-catching delight to any garden.
***Planting Instructions***
4 o'clock flowers can be sown directly into the ground once all dangers of frost have passed. These flowers thrive in full sunlight and soil that is consistently moist.
For best germination, soak the seeds overnight in water.
Then, plant the seeds about 1/4-inch deep in your garden soil.
As an alternative, these flowers can also be started indoors at a minimum of 8 weeks before the last frost.
**** A STRONG WORD OF CAUTION***
These flowers are toxic to both humans and pets when eaten
