The flowers themselves are nice big headed purple black seeds. On 9 to 12 foot plants
Growing up to 3m in height with spectacular large flower heads, the seeds can be harvested to produce a beautifully rich dark purple dye.

The Hopi black sunflower seeds were collected by Native Seed SEARCH in 1978 from the Shungopavi village on the Hopi Reservation for preservation in their heritage seed bank, and further distribution.
