The German foxtail mullet gets its name
Because the grain heads are shaped like a fox tail
Mullet is a fast growing grain ready in 70 to 80 days from seed to grain harvest. Can get by with little irrigation can be used as pasture. For any of your four legged friends. Not sure about horses. But the sheep and goats love it. Believe it or not pigs will eat the lower parts of the plants after the goats go through it.
Great for chicken feed run the whole plant through a chipper. Or. You make hay out of it. Before the grain heads are fully developed.
Should plant around 5 to 7 pounds a acre. So if your doing a 1/8 of a acre small pasture order a pound
Plant early Plant often
