Germination takes roughly 3-5 days.

Buckwheat can be combined with other quick-growing species like mustard to provide ground cover. 

Buckwheat is frost sensitive, so its seeds can be sown between April and August. If you want to grow buckwheat for grain production, you should sow it by July because it takes around 60–70 days for the grain to fully develop.
