A very rare hubbard type, it does well in sales; its beautiful in appearance.  It stores very well and has a true winter squash flavor. Can be used in place of potatoes. This ones a little bigger, so if you're only cooking for two, cut in half or quarters and save the rest.  Will make an excellent addition to fall displays. Your homestead needs a few 

   This variety will grow anywhere you can grow winter squash. It's all heirloom open pollinated.  This dates back to the pilgrims.   So if you want real squash flavor that's been unchanged for generations get this one.
