Amarillo Oro Melon is a white flesh Heirloom melon that can top the scales at 15 pounds; but these average 5 to 7 pounds.  Very tasty for a white flesh melon, these also hold up well in shipping. Great for market growers and for home gardeners alike. For northern climates, we recommend transplanting as this variety takes upwards of a 100 days. If you want an interesting melon, definitely add this variety to your line up!

Amarillo Oro melons are a winter melon with yellow rinds and white flesh.

Amarillo Oro literally translates to "Yellow Gold"

Melons typically grow to be 3-5 lbs, but can grow to be 15 lbs. Direct sow seeds in full sun. Sow in rich soil 1" deep. Hills should be placed 12" apart with rows 36" apart. Vines typically grow 3-10" long. Melons are ready for harvest after around 100 days.
