Collection: Broom corn

Broom corn or sougrum has all kinds of used the fancy color ones are used for crafts. The orange can be used to extract syrup.   This is a very quick growing crop  takes very little water or soil inputs.   We are in zone 6b 

  We planted a test plot. July 4th. Before frost we had 8 ft tall grain heads. We got turn it into hay. We got 7 tons from one acre. This is wonderful for finishing off your grass fed pork or steers.    We seeded about 3.5 pounds a acre 

  What a wonderful old fashioned grain.     

 This can get by without alot of irrigation.  Will do wonderful  for feed for heritage breeds of livestock 

You even feed it to the family milk cow. Or milking goats.
