Sunflowers

Sunflowers will put the essence of summer to your kitchen table. Raised beds field ditch line or wherever you put or plant them. 

 This is a very important crop to all the farmers market crowd. Great for fresh flower sales. Potted plants as well as bird feed at the end of the year with the heads.  We here at farm hand seeds we have big ones tall ones Small short ones multi branching for fresh flowers.    We recommend planting at two types.   Ex..big head.   Multi branching.  

   Sunflowers are very easy to grow alot of times it's plant and forget 

Sunflowers are really easy to grow and a delight to look at, a true sign of summer. 
When planting sunflower seeds they need to be at least ½-¾ of an inch into the soil 
Bigger head varieties of sunflower need an inch or even an inch & ½ as bigger head varieties need a bigger root structure. 
Spacing can be anywhere from 1-4 feet apart, depending on the variety, a good general rule to keep in mind would be that with bigger heads space them further apart than you would with smaller head varieties  
Expect the seeds to germinate within 7 days. 
**Please note with the Bigger single-headed varieties, if you live in an area that is prone to windy weather, the sunflowers will require support as the wind is likely to knock them over. 
It’s also important for best results; plant in an area that provides full sunlight**
