Collection: Pumpkins

The pumpkin is our personal favourite no homestead is a homestead without these that goes the same for the folks who have a farm stand we have quite a selection of these guys

Special note to the farmers in the northern tier of the country. We have varieties that start out yellow or light orange. So if you get a early frost your pumpkins are still in colour for the season

Pumpkins are also very good for finishing off the family hog  30 or 40 pumpkins after your fall displays   will put a very nice finish to your hog before you harvest it

Pumpkins do not like to be transplanted and they should be direcr seeded.
Pumpkin seeds need to be planted 1-11/2 inch down into the soil.
With warm soil,  pumpkin seeds will take 5-10 days to germinate.
Spacing need to be 12 inches apart if you're planting pumpkin seeds in rows, if you don't intend to plant pumpkin seeds in rows, seeds can be planted 4-6 feet apart in any direction.
It's important to remember when planting in rows to use double rows spaced 10feet apart otherwise they will grow together.
With pumpkins, it's very important that you don't pick any plants until the vines start dying off in the fall.
Pumpkins can be interplanted with corn.  The vines will grow everywhere.
**Please Note: If you want pumpkins for Halloween, pumpkins should not be planted until the end of June**
