Veggies That Are Good For Gardening With Children

I hope everyone is doing well.

We've been talking a lot about getting children involved in gardening and this post is all about the best veggies to use to start getting children involved in gardening.

1: Pumpkins- Pumpkins are a great way to start gardening with children because it's fun to grow pumpkins that are ready and perfect for picking just in time for Halloween. Another fun part to this is to have friendly competitions to see who can grow the biggest pumpkin.
2: Radishes- One of the quickest and easiest salad grows to grow with children would be radishes. As an added bonus, radishes can be planted all over the summer months which is great for teaching children all about the benefits of succession planting. Radishes also make a great healthy snack.
3:Carrots- Another veggie that's easy for children to grow would be carrots. Children will love to eat carrots fresh from the ground. Carrots are a great way to teach children all about the growing process as the long stems above ground are an indicator of how well these seeds are growing.
4: Peas- Another first-time favourite to garden with children would be peas. Peas will need some supports as they grow that's another way to teach kids all about nurturing plants and they many different needs of all of the different kinds of veggies.
5: Spinach- I guarantee that this would surprise a few people because spinach isn't what comes to mind when it comes to kids and vegetables but nevertheless spinach deserves a place on this list. Spinach is a great addition for gardening with children because it's very easy to grow and has very little requirements.
