The Benefits Of An Autumn Garden
Share
Hey Guys,
I hope everyone is doing well.
As part of this week's mini series, we've been looking a preparing your garden for various times of the year.
For today, we've been looking at how to prepare your garden for autumn, so right now I wanna talk a little about the benefits of having an autumn garden.
The main benefit of having an autumn garden is that you can really het a head start on he new growing season once spring arrives the following year. Autumn really is the last chance of the year to get everything you need to do before winter arrives and the weather turns too bad to do anything, so do it while you have the chance. So it's best to just knuckle down and crack on whilst the weather is still somewhat favourable.
Autumn-planted gardens have a head start come spring. Strong root systems established during the autumn months enable plants to withstand harsh weather conditions, making your garden more sustainable in the long run.
One major benefit of having an autumn garden is that it's a more natural method of pest control, as common garden pests are less active during cooler temperatures, that gives your garden a chance to breathe after the consistent onslaught of pests during the warmer months.
In addition, when you plant in the autumn one of the benefits to this is that they require less watering, so it's one less thing to think about compared to earlier in the year.
It's important to remember, the more you do in the autumn, the better head start you'll have come spring.
This has been just a quick look into some of the many benefits to having an autumn garden.
Tomorrow I'll share with you some of the common mistakes when it comes to preparing your garden for winter.
Thank you for reading,
Until next time,
