Seed Growing Journey: Things to Consider When Starting Out:Part One
Share
Good morning,
I hope you’re all doing well,
I still have some exciting updates about my own personal seed growing journey which I will share with you over the next few days, but for now I wanted to take a small step back, the reason for this is that my whole journey is to learn new skills on how to grow produce myself, but I also want it to be something that inspires others to do the same…
For now I’ve been mostly sharing my experiences, but I wanted to give you guys a little insight into the things to consider when you’re thinking about this journey yourselves, I want to help give you the best start possible to a rewarding, yet sometimes challenging process that is involved in the whole thing….
I’ve decided to split this working into two parts, the first are things to consider when you’re just starting out… and the second will focus more on the physical side of things….
So let’s get started….
The first thing I think is important to consider when you’re starting out on this journey is to think about time….
Do you honestly have the time needed to commit to the whole process…
I personally know how challenging this can be because Ive struggled myself from time to time…. Finding the right balance and establishing a routine in caring for my plant babies was really helpful for me, so that’s also something to consider.
I’d also like to mention that the whole process demands a lot of patience, and it can be a struggle at first to learn how to slow down….
On more than one occasion now I’ve wanted to rush through the whole thing just to see the end result, but time and time again I’m reminded that it’s now how nature works, nature moves at her own pace… and I need to work with her, not trying to rush….
I also think it’s really important to get children involved in the growing process as much as possible because that’s how we inspire the next generation to live off the land and care for nature, because let’s face it… right now our big blue marble needs all the help she can get…. And we have a duty to care for her in the same way that she cares for us….
In the next part of this I’ll walk you through the more practical side of starting out on your own seed growing journey.
Until next time,
Thank you for reading,
Kim
