Seed Growing Journey: Growing Pains.
Share
Hello,
I'm back again with another small update on how my seed growing journey is progressing, or maybe it would be the lack of progress that is the inspiration for this post.
The most important thing I want to express in this post is that I want you guys to learn from my mistakes...
But that's not as bad as it sounds, this is a whole new experience for me and I could sit here and punish myself over making some really simple mistakes, or I could instead choose to help others so that these mistakes are a simple learning curve. This is a journey, it wouldn't be fair for me to share just the good parts, I want to give you guys the whole picture, so if you find yourself making the same mistakes that I've made, just know that you're not alone and it's not the end of the world, it's all part of the journey.
That brings me to my first mistake, I've attempted to direct seed things into the soil outside in my front garden and it's been a few days since I started out there and what I discovered was I'd made a mistake with the depth of the holes that I needed for the seeds, the seeds have been put too deep into the ground, I think the excitement of starting a new project made me a little too hasty to get started, but there's always another chance to start again.
The important thing is not to give up.
The second mistake I've made is with the lilac peppers, when we first started with the seed tray, we forgot to account for the changes in temperature.
I'll be honest and admit that it's a little colder over here for the time of year and I've learned recently that it may be impacting the seed germination, but again that's something that can be fixed, we're trying to compensate for this by adding a heat mat to the seed tray.
So fingers crossed, within the next few days things should start progressing in a more positive direction.
Until next time,
Kim
