So let's dive in to today's topic....
As I've mentioned before (and you're probably tired of hearing this by now but it's worth mentioning again.. I want to make this point really clear so it avoids any disappointment!), tomatoes are incredibly cold-sensitive.... which got me thinking....
How cold is too cold for tomato plants?

Well tomato plants don't usually thrive in cooler or cold temperatures, unless you're growing varieties that are bred to withstand cooler growing climates. If it gets too cold, you run the risk of severe damage to your tomato plants, in the worse case, they can even die, and let's face it... nobody wants that to happen!

Temperatures below 10'C (50'F) can cause slow growth, poor pollination and fruit damage. This is the last thing I want for any of you guys, all that hard work wasted.... no... that's not gonna happen.
The ideal temperatures for tomato growth is between 21-24'C (70-75'F).

It's important to keep in mind that  healthy tomato plants can tolerant short periods of cooler weather, and they will outgrow any damage caused by a brief cold snap, unless the damage is too great or the temperature is too cold.

Tomato plants will die if they are exposed to frost (temperatures below 0'C (32'F)).
If night time temperatures are expected to drop below 10'C (50'F), it's safer for your tomato plants if you cover them with a light cloth, blanket or any other protective materials.

This has been a quick and helpful guide, I wish you all the success in the world for your own tomato growing adventures.
Thank you for reading,
Until Next Time,
Kim
