Growing feed for your laying hens

hello folks it's no secret that egg prices are at a all high  it's almost impossible for the small operator to get low cost high quality feed. We are going to talk about growing some easy things. To feed your egg machines.  Commercial feed from the feed store doesn't really do small scale  flock any good.

  First off you need marigolds.  Figure 10 plants for every hen you have the flowers will make your eggs a really deep color 

  You do a mix of red clover. Kale, Peas. And Buckwheat.

These are cold tolerant and will grow most of the year in most areas.
