Flowers That Are Great For Gardening With Children.

Hey Guys,
I hope everyone is doing well.

This post follows on as the next part in a series of blog posts about getting children involved in farming and gardening.

For today, I'm going to be taking a look into some of the best flowers to start with when it involves gardening with children.

So let's dive right in:

1: Sunflowers- Sunflowers are one of the easiest flowers for children to grow and there's a distinct connection between sunflowers and childhood with children being naturally drawn to daisy sunflowers. Another fun fact about sunflowers is that they can be used to measure a  child's height.

2: Mint- Children love engaging with the smell of plants as this helps with their sensory development, and it doesn't always have to be flowers. Children can rub the mint leaves to release their powerful scent.

3: Cosmos- Cosmos are another flower that are great for children because their bright colours are striking and will really catch children's interest. The bright colours of these flowers will last for at least 12 weeks.

4: Marigolds- Marigolds are a really easy flower to grow and they produce bright and cheerful blooms. With marigolds, they're very easy to grow and that's an important thing to keep in mind when gardening with children.

5: Cornflowers- Cornflowers have striking colours and are very easy to grow. Not only are these beautiful blooms easy to grow, they're wonderful for attracting bees and butterflies into the garden which will be a delight for gardeners of all ages!

Thank you for reading,
until next time,
Kim
