Childhood Memories (Part Two)

Hey Guys,
I hope everyone is doing well.

Thank you for reading the first part to this mini series, I've been sharing with you some stories from my childhood, it's been really interesting for me to go through this process.

This time around, I have another memory from my childhood I wanted to share with you guys, and again, this is another memory from my time with my grandpa.

He was a huge part of my life when I was growing up, he taught me so much about gardening and being outside was one of my favourite things, I spent more time outside than inside.. which was a whole lot of fun and I can honestly say that I look back at my childhood with some happy memories with my grandpa out in his garden.

I spoke earlier about all of the fun I had with tomatoes, but that wasn't the only adventures that I found inside my grandpa's garden. He was also interested in growing carrots, runner beans and potatoes... so naturally that meant spending more time harvesting.

Picking fresh veggies was super fun because we always made a game out of it, it wasn't just me who spent time with my grandpa in his garden, I was also joined by my twin brother and my cousin who's a couple of years older than us, so everything we did together became a game, even the most tedious of chores such as peeling the runner beans, taking all of the individual beans out of their pods was made into a game so the hard work never seemed that hard, it was fun, and making a game was a way to keep it interesting for all of us.

There was also games involved when it came to picking potatoes and carrots, such as seeing which one of us could find the biggest carrot or potato, or who could pick the fastest, it was all light hearted fun, everything we did was under the constant watchful eye of my grandpa.

But the work in the garden wasn't the only fun part we were also allowed to help out once the veggies had been harvested, from prepping the veggies, such as harvesting the runner beans to peeling the carrots and potatoes, it all played a huge part in helping me become the person I am today.

Thank you for reading this far there's one more post in this mini-series.
Thank you once again for reading,
Until next time,
Kim
