Annual Flower Ideas For A Summer Garden

Hey Guys,
I hope everyone is doing well.

This post is the next in a series of posts about flower ideas for your garden for different times of the year. We've already explored some of the delicate blooms for a spring time garden, so this time around we're looking at summer.

So let's dive right in:
1: Sunflower- Is there anything more iconic for a summer time garden than the epitome of summer itself...? The sunflower. I would highly recommend planting sunflower seeds at the end of spring in order to bloom in time for summer.
2: Cornflowers- Blooming from late spring to late summer, cornflowers are colourful delights that come in a variety of colours such as blue, pink, lavender, white and maroon. They're a perfect choice for attracting bees and butterflies to your garden. Cornflowers are also ideal for cutting and drying, adding beauty to bouquets and crafts.
3: Statice- Limonium sinuatum, better known as Statice or Sea Lavender, is a popular choice for dried flower arrangements. Loved by bees and butterflies, these flowers thrive in coastal areas.
4: Moss Rose- Portulaca grandiflora, better known as moss rose is an annual flower that produces attractive blooms in shades of pink, violet, white, red, salmon, orange or yellow. Blooming from late spring to the time of frost, these flowers open their petals on sunny days and close again at night or when the weather turns cloudy.
5: Angelonia- Better known as summer snapdragon, angelonia is a resilient and fragrant plant that thrives in hot conditions, offering continous flower blooms all summer long. With its pest resistance and ability to attract pollinators, snapdragons are a valuable assets to any garden, requiring very little maintenance.
