Share
Hey Guys,
I hope you're all doing well.
This is the start of another series all about flower ideas for different times of the year. This time we're focusing on annual flowers. Annual flowers will bloom for one growing season and then they die at the end of the season only to be replanted again from seed the next season.
This time around we're looking a flower ideas for a spring time garden.
so let's dive right in:
1: Pansy/Viola- The sweet little faces of these beloved flowers are nothing like they're nature, they're much tougher than the look. Pansies and violas are available in a huge variety of colours. Although like all other plants, it's important to harden them off if you're already starting these flowers indoors.
2: Petunia- Perhaps no annual flower is more widely planted than the petunia, and for good reason, their bright blooms come in a stunning abundance of colours and really add an eye-catching pop of colour when planted en masse.
3: Love-In-A-Mist: Nigella damasena, better known as love-in-a-mist is truly an adorable, delicate addition to any garden simply because of their colour alone. Traditionally seen in a sky-blue colour, there are also white, purple, and pink varieties. This flower is very easy to grow and as an added bonus, this flower is self-seeding.
4: Primrose Gem- This cheery, old-fashioned flower creates a neat dome of foliage bursting with buttons of primrose-yellow flowers with a golden centre.
5: Lobelia- The intense blue and purple blooms of the lobelia flower make it one of the most popular spring flowers. Keep in mind that lobelia flowers are cold-tolerant, they will not tolerate frost, so it's best to wait before all dangers of frost have passed before planting these flowers.
Thank you for reading,
Until next time,
