A Guide To Choosing The Right Flowers For Your Garden (part One)

Hey Guys,
I hope everyone is doing well.

Before we dive right in on today's subject of choosing the right flowers for your garden. I'd like to thank you guys for taking the time out of your day to read my blog posts, especially the most recent blog posts from my childhood, it was a really personal journey for me and talking about myself has never really been one of my strongest points, so thank you!

So let's dive right in, back to the world of flowers in this basic guide to choosing the right flowers for your garden:

1: Plan Ahead- The first step is probably the most obvious and the most-often overlooked. When it comes to choosing the right flowers for your garden the first step is to plan ahead. It's really that simple, put some thought into what you really want, about what you like, how your flowers will work together. This is your time to bring your garden's vision to life. A well-thought out plan is the best kind of plan.
2: Don't Judge A Plant By It's Flowers- Commercial garden centres and supermarkets have steered us into thinking plants in flower are somehow better than those that aren't. There's a surprisingly simple solution to that... Enjoy the process of growing your own flowers from seed yourself. Yes, it's more work, but it's worth it, a little more work for a stronger sense of accomplishment in the long run is worth it... trust me.
3: Annual, Biennial or Perennial?- This goes back to really thinking about what you want in your garden, what do you want your garden to loo like? Consider your long term plans but don't forget about the short term, do you prefer annual flowers, or perennials? It's up to you really, no one knows your garden better than you do, your garden vision can become anything you want it to become.
4: Available Space- This is another really important factor when it comes to planning your garden. You really need to think about how much space you have to work with. There's also other factors to consider, such as how much time you have available to actually tend your garden.

Thank you for reading,
Until next time,
Kim
